Nursing home drug tests nurses, finds substance abuse

A Wisconsin nursing home discovered a missing controlled substance; the nurses who had access to the drug were drug tested. While the nurses tested negative to the missing drug, it was found that another nurse was abusing another narcotic that she did not have a prescription for.

A full assessment on the nurse confirmed this drug problem. As a result her license was limited and she is only allowed to continue to work at the home under close supervision while she is seeking treatment. She will also have to undergo weekly drug tests.

The drug test was able to find that a nurse a was abusing drugs, and thus the nursing home administrators were able to help her and help ensure the safety of the patients in the nursing home.
